A Death In The Family
A DEATH IN THE FAMILY formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2004. After self recording a 5 song demo Dec '04 [out of print] they played many local and interstate gigs throughout 2005 with bands including Ted Leo (USA), Sommerset (NZ) and The Explosion (USA) and in April 2005, set out on their first Australian tour supporting legendary UK band Leatherface. Their debut album "This Microscopic War" recorded at The Arthouse and produced by Frankie Stubbs (Leatherface) was released early in 2006 on Poison City Records (Australia/ NZ) & shortly after on UK label Newest Industry (UK/ Europe/ USA/ Canada/ Japan). In February 2006, ADITF were asked to support infamous Gainesville (USA) punk band Against Me! on all dates of their Australian tour. In june 2006 guitarist/ vocalist Sarah Hardiman left the band to concentrate on Motor Vehicle Sundown and was replaced by Jamie Hay (Fear Like Us, Conation). ADITF embarked on their first 40 date UK/ Europe tour late 2006, taking them to Finland playing with Manifesto jukebox, UK with Milloy and Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria with Leatherface (UK).
As well as some compilation appearances, ADITF have produced 2 video clips for the songs "Sink We Swim" & "let's Loose".
ADITF are currently writing for their next release.
