Sorry to inform you that the upcoming ENDSTAND and KUUDES SILM€ LPs have been further delayed at the pressing plant because of the floods in central Europe. They had to switch off the power from the plant to prevent the risk of the high-power supply being flooded.. thanks for understanding! The LPs should be here by the end of June and pre-orders will be shipped asap then.

WASTED are the only one left of the original CRI bands.. and tonight they kick off yet another euro tour at the Volxbad in Flensburg, Germany! Damn i miss that place and the people there, one of my favorite places on tour ever with MANIFESTO JUKEBOX and I WALK THE LINE.

But good times are ahead here too.. on Saturday night we are hosting the GUTTER THREAT vol. 1 bowling party at the FUN BOWLING in Kallio, Helsinki. From 7pm to midnight ex-Combat Rockers Janne and XjaniX will spin vinyls and punks will destroy those pins! WELCOME! Call 020 743 7620 for reservations.

KAKKA-HATA 77 will tour in Finland this as well as next week - a rare chance to hear all those live so don't miss them if you are around!

The KUUDES SILMA album is now available in iTunes, Spotify etc. digital stores. The CD is here now, vinyl in about 3 weeks.

CRI #100 FIRE INSIDE - THE STORY OF ENDSTAND is now available for pre-ordering! The LP+DVD version is limited to 300 copies and will not be available for wholesale. Since CRI is celebrating 13 years this month, i going to get all emotional and write memories about some of the label's most important releases here.. so here we go, MANIFESTO JUKEBOX's debut album "Desire". I also just put it on sale on THE CRI WEBSTORE so if you don't have it already, pick it up for 5 euros on vinyl or CD now!

Along with IWTL's Desolation Street and SARKYNEET's current album Kaupungin Kutsu, this is for me personally the most important album that i've been involved with as a band member. There was just something magical and innocent about this period. We really believed in what we were doing and we were living and breathing this thing. It was definitely more than music. I've never worked so hard for any other release.. but it did not feel like working. This is also the best-selling record CRI has ever been involved with, counting all the different licensed versions around the world. We were also touring so much. Later we signed with the legendary BYO Records from Los Angeles (only to return to CRI later..), toured Japan and the US and the list goes on - all that was built on the foundation that this album, the things we did and the shows we played during this period laid. When we recorded this album, we had not yet toured much at all.. in fact we had not even practiced that much because we all lived in different towns. But we did have a common vision of what we wanted to achieve. All of us contributed. I have never been in a band where everybody is as equally dedicated - well, at that time we were a power trio so it was that much easier. But anyways.. i will forever be happy and proud of what we did together with Antti and Jukka in the late 90s/early 00s and this is the recording that best captures the spirit of those days.

Since i just realized that today it's exactly 10 years since IWTL's first show ever and i've already touched the subject, i might as well write a bit about that band's most important album Desolation Street too. Actually i could almost take that Desire text, replace a couple of names, and that would be it! By 2005, i guess most of us were a bit bored and disillusioned with where things had gone with the old bands (MJ and Wasted), we were hungry for something fresh and ready to break a bunch of scene rules. Of course we did not write a song like When I'm Gone (fun fact: video director Katja Kettu is now a best-selling author) to piss people off, but i don't think we really expected them to love it either. They did though and we ended up playing a crazy amount of shows that year.. all of us were going through some weird period in our personal lives that year and maybe as a result, a band has never felt so much like a family, as IWTL did then. On one of the tours we played at a Mutti's Booking showcase at the Popkomm festival in Berlin, where the boss of Gearhead Records from California fell for us and licensed the album, and we ended up touring the US. We also toured Japan and Australia/New Zealand - as a result of Desolation Street's success in Finland we got to play a bunch of shows and festivals where we actually made some money, and now that it's all said and done i'm so happy we spent it all on these crazy tours! I have played a show in Tasmania, which is the furthest place you can go from Finland. How weird is that?!

This is a big month for Combat Rock Industry.. it's been 13 years since our first ever release, WASTED's debut album Suppress & Restrain. That one was soon followed by two more finnish hardcore/punk rock classics, ENDSTAND's picture disc 7" and MANIFESTO JUKEBOX's debut album Desire. After these Endstand and MJ crammed into the Combat Rock van and embarked on a 7 week tour of mainland Europe.. and did a hell of a job putting CRI on the map right from the start! Fast forward 13 years, and now CRI release #100 is almost ready to be sent to the plant!

#100 is the FIRE INSIDE - THE STORY OF ENDSTAND documentary. Running time 88 minutes, includes English subtitles and their 10th anniversary show as a bonus. The package also includes a live recording the final Endstand show at the CRI 10 year party in Helsinki on 22.5.2010 on CD. There will also be a limited LP+DVD package, that one will be really cool! Pre-orders will be up as soon as everything is confirmed with the pressing plants.

So, there will be 3 new CRI releases this month! All very different from each other musically, which is something the label always loved to do. But at the same time they all fit on the label perfectly! FIRST TIMES are one of the best modern power pop/rock'n'roll bands i've ever heard. The upcoming 2nd EP is even better than the first. ENDSTAND is, well.. ENDSTAND! And finally KUUDES SILMA is just plain amazing hardcore/post punk/goth amalgam.. if you like MUSTA PARAATI/THE SOUND/BELGRADO etc you really need to hear this band!

CRI has also "signed" (even after 100 releases, there is still not a single written contract) a new band.. THE PISTONES! Featuring the drummer and bass player of THE HEARTBURNS, the band plays classic late 70s influenced punk/rock'n'roll/power pop in the vein of, say, THE JAM, RUTS, PLIMSOULS etc.. you get the picture. They are currently in the studio working on their debut album with Lauri Eloranta of the band PAA KII, who also produced the current records by SARKYNEET and FIRST TIMES. Check out the song Die Alone from their self-released debut 7" HERE.

Speaking of THE HEARTBURNS, who have recently been playing a couple of shows after being on hiatus for a while.. they will be recording a new 7" soon, to be released on CRI later this year! Their 2nd album FIXIN' TO DIE will also be re-issued with new artwork later in 2013.

And finally, the very band whose album kickstarted this label, is hitting the studio in the summer for a new record.. yes, WASTED will be releasing a new album in late 2013!

WASTED are playing 2 acoustic shows in Finland to celebrate the release of the Rugged, Raw & Unplugged 10". They will also do an acoustic show in Berlin on May 25th on their euro tour.. the dates are online now, check them out!

The KAKKA-HATA 77 Totaalinen Kakkahata LP re-issue is out now and looks so much better than the first two pressings.. and sounds just like it should too of course!

CIGARETTE CROSSFIRE have found a new vocalist/bass player and will start touring again soon!

The KUUDES SILMA album is almost done, more news about that soon! KUUDES SILMA will be touring in Russia with YDINPERHE in late May/early June, dates coming soon.

So, FIRST TIMES is CRI#099.. and as many of you might already know, or have guessed at least, CRI#100 will be the FIRE INSIDE - THE STORY OF ENDSTAND documentary DVD. It will be an amazing package, more details soon! I was thinking long and hard what to do with #100 and when i found out it would be possible to do this, i couldn't have been happier! The story of Endstand goes hand in hand with the story of this label in many ways, and wraps up one very important period in our lives.
