The Finnish store release date of the Black
Wave 7"/CDS has been moved to Wed March 19th in order to make
sure the record is in all cool stores across the country by that
day.
Black Wave is the power play song ("Viikon
Teho" in finnish) of the week on the indie/rock program X-RYHMÄ
on national radio!

Our German "Black Wave Rising" release
party is now confirmed! We will play with fellow Finns DISCO
ENSEMBLE at the Columbia Club in Berlin on Friday April 25th.
The oldest finnish outdoor
rock festival RUISROCK
has announced the bands for summer 2008 and IWTL is among them -
other bands include Interpol, Flogging Molly, At The Gates.. expect
more festival news soon!
And please remember, the "Black Wave"
7"/CDS/download will be available next week, on Wed March 12th
on COMBAT
ROCK INDUSTRY.
The Black Wave music video will be ready soon as
well, can't wait! We shot it in an old dance pavillion - those places
are a legendary part of Finnish summer with guys drinking vodka
and fighting behind the pavillion, girls waiting for someone to
dance with them.. you get the picture?! During the winter these
places are closed though, so it was not the most comfortable thing
to rock around the clock in the freezing cold set-up - but well..
it was a lot of fun, there was a lot of cool weird stuff going on
and it will look great on screen!

At last our new album Black wave rising is ready!
We´re happy to tell you that this time we’ve really accomplished
our own natural style of songwriting and we also managed to capture
the raw energy of the band in the studio better than ever before.
There’s more synth sounds and the songs are a lot further from
the traditional approach than before which makes it sound fresh.
Even though there are more straightforward punk rock songs than
ever before, it´s still hard to categorize the album, because
all this mixing of influences and elements from a wide range of
styles conjures up sounds that are at times unexpected. Of course
the distinctively catchy melodies, hooks and heartfelt lyrics are
still there! We can't wait for you to be able to pick this up and
decide for yourselves!

in Helsinki on April 4th with AT who are also releasing their new
album on the same day as we are!

COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY will release the Black Wave
7"/CDS here in Finland on Wed March 12th. This is a Finland-only
release and the vinyl is limited to 500 copies on transparent vinyl
- so, if you want to get hold of this thing, ask us or CRI. On the
B-side there's a song called Lost Chapter, we are really happy about
that one as well but it just did not fit the style of the rest of
the songs on the album.. Lost Chapter is more in the vein of When
I'm Gone and The Man Without A Name off our last album Desolation
Street.
We will also shoot a music video for "Black
Wave" next Sunday, it will be pretty cool! But more about that
later..

We've been hard at work, mixing the album for the
last couple of days.. so very soon you can expect some real updates!

Everything is on tape now! Well, make that
the hard drive cos after recording all our previous releases analogically,
we have finally moved on to the modern age. First of all now that
most of us live in Helsinki instead of Tampere we kind of wanted
to record here, cos for most of us it's not possible to travel anywhere
cos we have to work all the time, in order to be able to tour all
the time when the record is out.. so using the studio we always
did before was out of the question. And it was also great to try
new ways to work for change - we had a great time doing this with
our engineers Mikko and Pekka.
Tomorrow we are going somewhere to shoot new band photos while M
& P will start mixing the record. Damn it sounds good already!
I would already want to post some music here, luckily (for me, unfortunately
for you heh!) i am not that drunk just now.. we'll all have to wait
for two more weeks or so.
Our debut album "Badlands"
has not been available on vinyl for a very long time.. it was released
in February 2004 and sold out in a couple of months. But now Combat
Rock Industry is going to do a re-press and it will be available
in a few weeks! Haven't listened to that album in a very very long
time but soon we'll start practicing our new live set, i guess we
should check out some old songs as well!

Time for a small update on the recording..
it's turning out so good we can't wait for you to hear it :) Well
there's still some vocals and keyboards left to do before we can
even start mixing but already now everything sounds really powerful..
of course, anything less couldn't be expected when we have amplifiers
with controls like these, with the fist on 11!
During the last few days it's been mostly Ville
doing vocals - recently we finished the almost-title track of the
album, we decided to call the song just "Black Wave".
And actually we'll release an EP with this song and some unreleased
stuff before the album, in March!
Tomorrow it's new wave-time, we'll start doing
keyboards! Can't wait!

Happy new year! What's new.. we started recording
"Black Wave Rising" in late December and it has started
out just great! The recording process and hanging out in the studio
has been cool but maybe writing about it is not so interesting for
anybody.. well at least we used the equipment that Roky Erickson
& his band had at their Helsinki show the previous week - and
we were thinking of demons while playing! Maybe that was just the
hangover after the long boring x-mas days though.. more news coming
soon!
The Seawolf Studios are located on an island
outside Helsinki and our van does not fit in the Sunlines tourist
ferry, so we had to push the equipment to the ferry, and from the
ferry port to the to the studio.. fun fun fun!

The upcoming I Walk The Line album is called
Black Wave Rising! We have all the songs written and pretty much
everything else is all worked out too - Black Wave Rising will be
released all around the world in April on a bunch of great labels
and will be followed by lots of touring.. stay tuned for more news,
there are a lot of them coming in the next weeks / months..

TV party - not tonight but on Thursday!! ;)
In Finland that is. We are playing two songs live on the national
TV program Station T on the FST5 channel on Thu Nov 1st at 18:30.
The subject of the program is the (do it yourself) punk culture
and Combat Rock Industry will be interviewed there as well..

We are at the end of
our Desolation Street, after 140 shows in Finland, mainland Europe,
Russia, Japan and the US.. thanks to everybody who showed up at
Tavastia last saturday and made it our biggest club show so far,
it will be great to continue from that next spring! Meanwhile, stay
tuned for news and updates about the new album and upcoming tours..

So.. one sunny day in August we visited the
Seawolf Studios on the beautiful island of Suomenlinna, just a 15-minute
ferry ride away from the center of Helsinki but it's totally a different
world. We wanted to try a new studio for the recording of our next
album and this one was just perfect, both the place and our engineer
Mikko. We drove our Sprinter to the ferry, loaded in, set up the
equipment and played everything in just one day but we are so happy
about this that we decided to share it it you too.. so here it is,
our new song called Monster! ->

that we will just focus on getting the album done and then we'll
be back on stage with new songs next spring!

Thanks to everybody who showed up at shows
on the No Torture Here! tour, it was a blast.. thanks also of course
to Sister Flo and Moses Hazy, and especially the Valkyrians! There
is one show left at Tavastia, Helsinki on Sat 29th this month, it
will be the last one in a loooong time so make sure to be there!
We will share the stage with The Valkyrians and Sweatmaster.

No news in a long time.. we have just been
working on new stuff and playing shows here and there.. but Antti
and Ville's band WASTED played a bunch of shows around Finland which
after great after a long break, Jussi's other band HERO DISHONEST
has been on a break but will play with THE LOCUST next week in Helsinki
and Jani's record label COMBAT ROCK INDUSTRY has been keeping busy
with new stuff as well.. so, not much summer holidays around here!
Thanks to everybody who
showed up last weekend.. the Kokkola Rock Festival was just what
we expected it to be - a fun trip but you can't really win in a
small town, early Friday afternoon.. so as soon as we were done
playing we loaded the stuff out and started the 7 hour drive to
Helsinki in order to catch the BellRays show, and we did.. also
we made it to the bar to have a few more drinks after that and then..
we woke up before noon when our booking agent called and asked if
we want to play at the Ankkarock Festival in about half an hour
because this metal band Poison Black had canceled at the last minute..
5 hectic minutes later we were on the way and in less than an hour
we were on stage playing for a good amount of people! That sure
killed the hangover.. and also the weirdest thing is, we got more
money for this show than any other show ever before so can't complain!
And we also got to see the BellRays one more time as they were up
next on the same stage.. after that we drove back to Helsinki to
load in for our show with Samiam and that was another good one so
can't wait for next weekend!
On Friday we will play in Tampere, at one of our favorite venues
ever, Vastavirta! And with some of our current favorite bands Cold
Call and The Phoenix Foundation.. then on Saturday it's back to
Helsinki for a show at Dubrovnik, right in the center of the city
so there's no excuse to miss it!! :)

We are thrilled.. this year we have already
been in Japan and the US, not to mention numerous countries in mainland
Europe - but even though we live very close to Russia, we have never
played there and in many ways it's totally a different world for
us somehow.. but in September we will finally go there!

We were not supposed to play that many shows
this summer - but can't say no to nice things! So... here are a
few July gigs : On the 4th we will play in Lahti with a great new
punk band called Another Sinking Ship, and on the 6th in Oulu with
the mighty BellRays!! And on the 7th in Rovaniemi at the Simerock
fest with Disco Ensemble etc..

Our show at Kuudes Linja, Helsinki on August
4th had to be canceled.. but the good news is we will be opening
for SAMIAM at Tavastia that night instead!

We're back from tour, once again huge thanks
to everybody who helped us out! It's only spring but we've already
played at least 50 shows this year and even now we're at home for
two days before getting in the van again.. but after next weekend
it's time to take a break from this hectic schedule and just chill
out & start working on the new album.. of course we will play
some shows here and there and actually a whole lot in September
but more about that soon..

We have just about recovered from the US tour..
so we're ready to hit mainland Europe, can't wait! Whoa, will be
nice to sit in our own van, play with our own equipment for change..
not that there was anything wrong with Japan or the US but.. well
home sweet home and that's what the van pretty much is for us :)

We're back in Hell, Finland again.. the US
tour was a blast, thanks again to Gearhead, White Barons and Thunder
Boys for making it happen, Angel, Chuck, Nishone and everybody else

So.. next up is Europe in May, most of the dates
are posted now, some of them have changed and new ones will be here
soon!
Many people, especially in Finland of course since
"Desolation Street" has been out here for over a year
now, keep asking about the next record.. well, the thing is that
we have a lot of songs written and were going to do it pretty soon
but after "Desolation Street" was released on Gearhead
many things kind of started over again and since we still like that
record a lot too, it made sense to tour more now that it is possible..
but after this Euro tour in May we will have more time to work on
new stuff unless some really good tours come up - so maybe we will
record something in a couple of months but don't hold your breath
just yet..

The shows last week were so amazing, thanks
to everybody who showed up! Especially the R'n'P fest was really
something - and we recorded it and also shot it with a couple of
cameras so maybe parts of it can be seen somewhere someday...
We're leaving for Japan
tomorrow. Just read in the paper about some survey where the japanese
consider cup noodles to be the nation's greatest invention of 1900s.
Sounds good for a touring band, they must be pretty good over there
then :) We'll tell you more about this and maybe some other things

week.. other bands include FLOGGING MOLLY, COLUMBIAN NECKTIES, HEARTBURNS,
GOGOL BORDELLO and such.. should be cheap too so why not pick it

So here are the good news we promised... we
have signed with GEARHEAD RECORDS! "Desolation Street"
will be re-released outside Finland on January 23rd 2007, around
the time we are touring in Japan. A tour of the US is also in the
works for March and Europe will follow but more about those later...
these things will postpone the release of our third album from what
we had originally planned but that's only a good thing obviously!
It feels great to do stuff with a legendary, solid label like Gearhead
who on top of everything else are really nice people.

ja sitten Joensuuhun - kiitos kaikille!! Sori jos tuntuu köyhältä
juhlapuheelta mutta olihan tämä nyt huikea vuosi meille..
tammikuussa ennenkuin Desolation Street julkaistiin, ei osannut
odottaa oikein mistään mitään mutta hyvinhän
kaikki meni, paremmin kuin minkään meidän bändimme
jutut ennen. Joten parempi lopettaa tältä erää
ennen kuin kaikki kyllästyvät, ja käyttää
muutama seuraava kuukausi uusien juonien keksimiseen.. palataan
sitten ensi vuonna asiaan!
Suomessa ei tulla liiemmin
keikkailemaan ennen seuraavaan levyn ilmestymistä mutta tammikuun
12. soitetaan Tavastialla ja mahdollisesti samalla viikolla parissa
muussakin paikassa.. ja sen jälkeen lähdetään
kiertueelle Japaniin, jepjep!

So, that was a summary in Finnish about this year,
it's been really good us for here in our homeland.. now we're taking
a break from playing shows here and will concentrate on doing new
stuff.. but hey we are still leaving for a tour of Germany and Austria
next week, see you there!

national charts in Finland at #2 the week it was released! Pretty
crazy to say the least.. seems there's still some hope left for
independent music :)

Thanks again everybody who was there last week..
the release party was great, this old movie theatre turned into
a bar fit the mood very well and everybody got drunk finnish style
= it was a cool night!!
The Puntala and DBTL festivals were also both really
nice for us so can't complain.. now summer and the festival season
here in Finland are almost over but there are still a lot of shows
lined up, that you shouldn't miss.. our next Helsinki show is Wed
Aug 9th at Kuudes Linja and the rest.. well check the tour date
page for the listing, heh! But there's one especially cool thing
that we must mention.. it's the COMBAT ROCK FEST in Helsinki on
Aug 18th. BOMBSHELL ROCKS, DOWN MY THROAT, ABDUKTIO and KIELTOLAKI
will be sharing the stage with us, it's all ages and the people

The Diamond Eyes 7"/MCD is now available
from us, and later this week at stores around Finland. Other places..
it's slow as usual but you can always order direct!
We are very happy about this new record.. we decided
to do it soon after "Desolation Street" was released,
we just kept writing and practicing new songs and trying new things.
Sometimes, after our old bands have released new albums, things
have kind of stopped there. Release the album, start touring, stop
practicing, get stuck in the same old same old! Not this time and
that feels great.. and we haven't stopped after recording "Diamond
Eyes" either, there are already more songs than will fit on
the thirt album! We'll keep writing and then choose the best ones
/ the ones that fit the mood of the full album best.. but anyway
back to "Diamond Eyes", we recorded it in only 2 days
at The Sound Of JJ where we also did both of our albums. The sound
is big but still there's an intense feeling cos we didn't have time
to think about things too much, just nail the songs down the way
they were and this time that turned out to be a good thing!

If some of you are wondering why we disappeared
from MySpace, it was because of our name, again.. should have chosen
some other name back in the day i guess but at least we're still
here..
Well, gotta start finding other places where people
can check out some music then.. we'll start with the airwaves! Ville
and Jani will be at Radio
Helsinki next Tuesday 18:00-19:00, being interviewed and playing
their favorite records.

The I WALK THE LINE vs ZACHARIUS CARLS GROUP
tour dates are finally online! These will be our last Finnish shows
in a long time, unless something really special comes up! We will
take a break from playing live and practice the songs that will
eventually be on the third IWTL album.. it will be ready when it's
ready, no promises about the schedule!
If you have not heard ZCG yet, do yourself a favor
and give them a chance! Named after a notorious drunken preacher
from the North, the band have been called the musical equivalent
of David Lynch movies by some.. whatever, we have a lot in common
with them and these will be great nights for sure!

We are playing at the RMJ Fest on Thursday
22.6. - not Saturday like we were told before. But that's a good
thing i guess, to get it out of the way early and then concentrate
on celebrating the Mid-Summer Fest - after this we are on the way
towards darkness again..

Thanks to everybody who showed up at shows
last week, it was great while it lasted.. unfortunately we had to
cancel Helsinki cos Jani was too ill to even stand up, let alone
play.. this sucked cos it was supposed to be the first all-ages
show in Helsinki since "Desolation Street" was released.
But also our next Helsinki show on June 3rd is all ages so hope
everybody can come there!

We will start playing shows in Finland again
this week - can't wait! A lot of dates are posted now and many more
will be added soon. There is a good mix of different events from
small benefit gigs to the biggest festivals.. see you somewhere

We just shot a video for "When I'm Gone"
off the new album with director Katja Kettu who also did "Demons
Are Forever" with us last year. The footage looks really good
and now some animation will be added to it, can't wait to see the
final result!
So, next month we will
record a bunch of new songs for an EP that will be released in August.
It will also include "When I'm Gone" and the video...
We will be playing a
lot around Finland in the coming months, check out the tourdates
section for updates..
In August and September
we will do a tour with our friends ZACHARIUS
CARLS GROUP - yeah they're totally different from the bands
we usually play with and you should definitely check them out! The
dates will be posted soon. These will be our last shows in Finland
in a long time, so...

Home sweet home! Not that it wasn't fun to
be on tour, it most definitely was - thanks again to everybody who
helped us out in any way and came to the shows. See you again soon!
We will tour Europe again in September, and we are
very happy to be on MUTTI'S
BOOKING who do stuff for so many great bands, including The
Bellrays.. and speaking of them, we will play with them at the Tavastia
in Helsinki on July 11th! Also bunch of other finnish shows have
been posted now.
If you have too much money, we have new shirts and

and are really happy about that! So, it looks like we will be releasing

So, the finnish part of "Desolation Street" release tour
is now over.. shit, wish there was more time on our hands, it's
hard to stop!! It was a blast all the way.. but yeah, Jussi's other
band Hero Dishonest will leave for a tour in France & Spain
this week, go check them out if you are around and like your punk
fast, sweaty & chaotic!!
Can't wait for next month and the German tour! "Desolation
Street" has been getting great reviews over there as well which
is nice.. hopefully there will be people who want to check us out
live.. you know you should :)
We have been booking a bunch of summer/festival shows in Finland.
Most of them will be announced a bit later but let's start with
maybe the coolest of Finland's big festivals, Ilosaarirock!
IWTL will play at the legendary opening night punk club at the Joensuu
Ice Hall on July 14th.

A short stop at home in the middle of the tour.. all of the shows
have been amazing so thanks once again! There are still 4 nights
left this week..

Just got some weird news.. "Desolation Street" entered
the national sales charts here in Finland at #26 - pretty crazy,
what can we say but thank you people!
To say that this is something we could never even have thought
about a while back is an understatement! Yeah yeah i know it might
sound cheesy but we need to thank the whole finnish underground
punk rock scene for this, obviously even people who will never buy
this record.. cos they are the ones who made this happen. For years
people have been working hard for what they believe in and more
and more people have been coming to shows in general etc etc.. it
feels nice that something that has grown in this network can be
seen on a bigger scale also. I mean, this record was released on
our own (well, guitar player Jani's) label and is distributed by
a small independent company. So, this one's for all of you, let's
enjoy!
So, our tour in Finland starts tomorrow.. every wed-sat for the
next 3 weeks is packed with a bunch of good bands and a good time,
don't miss out!

This thing will be released in a few weeks on Combat
Rock Industry. The vinyl version will be co-released in Germany
by our friends at Foul
Collective.
We will tour Finland in January/February, the dates are posted
now. In March it's time to travel to Germany and around to re-fill
our supplies of 4,99€ Ubersee-rum, the winter here in the north
is long and dark and we're running low already.. we'll also play
18 shows. The dates will be posted soon!
